Look for Signs
/The shower at the yoga studio I work at keeps breaking.
It's most likely because the water only gets so hot and there's a natural urge to turn the handle harder to get it to get hotter. But once the handle stops moving, that's as hot as it's going to get.
Yesterday while fixing the shower again the owner said, "You think I should put up a sign that says, ‘Once it stops turning that's it. Do not try to turn it more,’ or something?"
I said, “Absolutely. You should put up two signs and one on the door, because people don't read signs.”
How many times have you pushed on a door that clearly says, "Pull"? Or opened up a can and then realized it says, "Shake before opening"?
Not only do we ignore actual signs, but we don't always read the more elusive, subtle signs that are around us all the time. You know the ones I mean, the ones from ‘the Universe’ or whatever you want to call it.
But the more you pay attention, the more you'll realize that the world is rich in signs. You've just got to look for them.
Who cares if you're 'reading too much into it'? If something changes your life for the better, does it really matter if it's placebo? Do you want a definitive answer for 'if there's something else out there' or do you want to make this precious life of yours the best it can be regardless of any 'big man in the sky'?
You're the one here on earth. You might as well enjoy it.
