Supercharge Your Intentions with Black Pepper

Want a little kick to getting started? Black Pepper is a great ally for dark and New Moon times to supercharge your intentions and ignite you to action.

As an essential oil, the aroma of Black Pepper is both sweet and spicy. Traditionally used as a common spice, it can almost be overlooked for its ritual benefits.

I love it for its stimulating nature and especially for the time of the New Moon, its symbolic quality of the dark moon itself.

Using Black Pepper around the New Moon can be simple. I like to put a drop on a tissue and inhale during meditation and journaling (can be done with ANY essential oil!), especially as I'm considering my intentions for this moon and the actions I plan to take in making them happen.

The best thing about aroma and setting intentions is that you begin to connect the smell to the intention itself. Once you “pair” the scent with the intention, you can use the scent in the coming weeks to recall the intention and spur you to take action towards making it happen. This is the idea behind the power of the Essential Oil Moon Kit.

You can also use actual Black Peppercorns on your alter or any other creative way you'd like to in ritual. And of course, use with conscious awareness on your food. Take time to notice the way freshly ground pepper enhances flavor in your mouth as a way of affirming the way it can enhance the seeds you're planting in your life at this time.

Don't have Black Pepper, but want to use aromas during your New Moon practices? You can replace with any other oil that speaks to you during this time. As with most intentional practices, it's the energy you bring to the ritual objects that give them their power.

I'd love to hear more about how you're using Black Pepper (or whatever!) during this time of the New Moon. Leave me a comment below.
