Forgiveness: Poem

The unfinished

homework,

the loose lip,

the love affair,

all become

buried beneath

sand and almost

forgotten.

When you close

your eyes and think

of these things,

feel your heart

inflate as if helium

is lifting you gently

chest-first

towards the sky.
