What makes the most sense?

Today I had some other plans for my day. I'm getting a new roof today, which is exciting but also a little noisy.

I had planned to stay home so I could be with my cat and provide just a little bit of comfort. With no clients on my schedule, I figured I'd catch up on some work.

But I found that with all the noise, I'm finding it hard to concentrate. Even writing this blog through all the noise is a bit challenging.

So what did I do instead? Start some deep cleaning and intense organizing. I had planned to do some of this work this week as I have friends visiting this weekend. But also, this is work I can do with music blasting in my headphones. It doesn't require the same kind of brain power as writing and working. Plus, I feel motivated to get a head start on this project of cleaning out a decade's worth of storage in my house.

There is also something that feels symbolic about clearing out the inside, while the outside is getting updated too.

Sometimes you've just go to do what makes sense in the moment rather than what you had planned to do when what you've planned is challenging. I'm all about powering through resistance but in this case, I'm pleased with the progress I'm making.

Alright, back to organizing my hallway closet to the irregular rhythm of shingles being stapled in. Wish me luck!
